With the current trend of embracing oversized clothing, the baton will be passed to 2023 to continue running with this trend. From our beloved jeans and printed shirts to formal blazers and comfy tees, the oversized trend is here to stay! It creates a wider channel for gender-neutral clothing and has been adapted by all genders with a warm welcome.

#RedefineMasculinity
Fluidity, drapes, and broader pant silhouettes aren’t just for women, and especially when it comes to the younger generations, a femme touch to otherwise masculine clothing is welcomed. The purpose is to soften the tailored lines and embrace a more sensual side of masculinity. More pleats, fuller cuts, draping, and silkier fabrics are some micro trends to watch out for in men's pants.

With the revival of Y2K we’ve seen this year, facets of the trends that seem to have caught on will continue to ride the wave in the coming year. Microskirts, minidresses, and miniskirts are a trend that we’ll be seeing more of after Miu Miu set the stage for it to make its comeback.

Combining the comfort & ease of wearing with fresh prints and relaxed fabrics giving the retro look. Drawstrings and elastic bands in the garment make it comfortable while serving a fashion statement. Pair it with a loose-fit shirt or play with layering on the top and voila, you have yourself a look.

Now wait up before you naysayers call out revenge dressing as ‘not a trend’, but the revenge dress has really started to stir up some momentum in recent times. With its inception by Princess Diana in the 90s, revenge dressing has made its comeback. With the added momentum of the “Wednesday-core” trend, the black dresses and platform heels in your closet can finally come out to play.

Psychedelia? With fashion? Oh yes! Taking graphic prints to a new level, screen-printed bodycon garments give the feel that your second skin looks somewhat surreal and otherworldly. WGSN e-commerce data shows abstract animal prints are up 7% in the UK and wavy prints increased by 20%. So don’t forget to stock your closet with these prints.

With Tik-Tok style trends like #witchcore, #whimsigothic and Netflix’s Wednesday-inspired dark tones, 2023 may see a push toward a real grunge fest among the youth. Dark floral placements, eccentric illustrations, tattoos, and pleated or crinkled textures to add another layer are some microtrends we might be seeing soon!

Quoted from WGSN’s Women’s Prints & Graphics A/W 23/24, “The rise of algae as a viable and more sustainable solution in a wide variety of industries inspires this direction, as well as regenerative nature themes and desire to protect and care for the environment.” As we move back to our roots as nature calls out for help in dire need, these newer fibers prove to be a solution to our fashion problems.

Still going strong and appearing in the forecasts for a few years now, we in the 21st century seem to love our cutouts. And why shouldn’t we? They have the perfect amount of peekaboo moments with a comfortable amount of playful revealing. Expect to see them in tops, dresses, pants and creativity in other garments as well!

Lest we forget the heavy comeback this year of the corset! In the form of corset tops, corset belts or just leaving them classic, these body-fitted sensual elements of fashion get another go at being a huge trend. Try being creative- layering them over a shirt or sweater or with experimental footwear that complements it- the world is yours to explore!
