2. Course Content:
3D/ Digital fashion consists of 5 parts and all parts are important for holistic learning.
- Modeling: Crafting the Virtual Ensemble
This process isn’t just about manipulation—it’s an intricate dance of pattern making and understanding its foundational concepts. Mastery of any 3D software tools, such as CLO, Browzwear, or Optitex, is necessary to execute this step effectively. - Finishing: The Devil’s in the Details
Finishing refers to the detailed work that gives a garment its final appearance. This includes the application and manipulation of seams, trims, and other elements of garment construction. A comprehensive grasp of these aspects is important to ensure the digital garment looks as realistic and refined as possible. - Texturing Techniques: Weaving Realism into Fabric
Fashion’s ever-evolving trends make a static fabric library obsolete. Learning how to create and apply realistic textures from scratch is crucial. It allows designers to simulate accurate fabric behaviors and appearances, keeping digital designs current and visually compelling. - Rendering Realities: The Alchemy of Digital Aesthetics
Understanding the interplay of lighting, camera angles, materials, and your system’s capabilities is critical to producing a high-quality final image. Good rendering techniques can dramatically enhance the visual impact of a design. - Animation and Avatars: Breathing Life into Designs
Animation isn’t just about movement—it’s about storytelling. Learning how to animate avatars using tools like MakeHuman and DazStudio, combined with Maximo and CLO, to infuse your designs with motion and emotion, transforming static garments into living, moving art.

Reflecting on my personal journey with CLO back in 2014, I vividly recall the critical need for support. Countless hours, over a thousand in fact, were spent searching for answers online, a clear indication of how vital a strong support system is.

Having instructed over 2800+ students from more than 10+ countries, my experience has cemented my belief that robust support and engaged teaching don’t just help; they transform the educational journey.

Course Content: The course is a short course that does not go in-depth with the 5 topics described above. For example, they have not covered pattern making which is the most essential part of 3D fashion.
Also, part 2 where they talk about the material is a 39-minute short video using the CLO material library which is not sufficient. We still think the structure of learning can be made much better and more detailed.
Teaching Style and Support: The platform provides Udemy-style courses with recorded videos. They do not have a support team for answering questions if people get stuck.
Pricing: There are five parts to this course $14 each. Which makes up to $70.
In the future, if they add more in-depth topics like pattern making, texturing, and animation with great support where students can engage and ask questions will make this a really good option to go from beginners to advanced.
