Decentraland Metaverse Fashion Show 2023

Decentraland Metaverse Fashion Week 2023

After a year of mixed performance, the Decentraland Metaverse Fashion Week is scheduled to return for a second iteration. Decentraland will once again have the honour of hosting some of the largest fashion brands in one of its parallel universes. The event is slated for March 28-31, 2023, following the real-world Fashion Weeks that span the globe from New York to Paris in February and March.

In our last blog, we talked about how to create a career in 3D fashion, if you haven’t read it check it out here.

How to create a career in 3D fashion design.

Creating a career in 3D fashion is as exciting as it sounds. To prove that to you, here’s something in the 3D fashion industry that we’re super excited about- the Decentraland Metaverse Fashion Week!

About Decentraland

Decentraland, which debuted in 2020, is the first decentralised metaverse and a virtual social environment powered by the Ethereum blockchain. Users may develop, enjoy, and monetise content and apps on the Decentraland platform, as well as interact and attend a variety of daily community-driven events. Decentraland is distinct in that it is owned, produced, and managed by the people who use it on a daily basis.

Decentraland has not yet announced the brands that will participate in this second metaverse event, but that’s something we’re all on our toes to find out! Dolce & Gabbana, Tommy Hilfiger, Selfridges, Guo Pei, and Paco Rabanne were among the notable names in the first edition. More than 108,000 individuals attended the event in total, a figure that remains rather modest in comparison to the dreams and expectations that some may have for these new virtual worlds.

Within one year, we have shown the world one of the strongest and most obvious use cases for the metaverse yet—digital fashion.

Dr. Giovanna Graziosi Casimiro, Head of Metaverse Fashion Week.

Miami Fashion Week 2023 will be the first globally recognised physical fashion week to participate during the Decentraland Metaverse Fashion Week with a special activation and runway shows on the rooftop of MIAFW’s L’Atelier built by Metaverse Group in Decentraland’s Luxury Fashion District, which was announced on December 2nd at Megan Kaspar’s event co-hosted by MVFW’23 and MIAFW, as well as participation on other cross Metaverse Platforms.

Sponsors, facilitators and more to keep an eye out for:

1.Phygicode

An organization that aids physical and digital brands in many aspects, Phygicode is highly involved. Working with high-end fashion labels, Phygicode comes to the event as a consortium specializing in luxury and hybrid fashion solutions, bringing partners and brands.

2. Threedium

Threedium, a ground-breaking 3D engine that facilitates 3D and AR experiences, will return with their own luxury mall, enabling companies to design and share personalized wearables and Augmented Reality experiences.

3. Boson

Boson is a decentralized commerce protocol that enables the decentralized commercial exchange without centralized intermediaries or trusted counterparties. This Metaverse Show 2023, it will expand their participation by enabling brands to sell physical and phygital items in the metaverse as redeemable NFTs. Once tokenized, Boson-redeemable NFTs can be traded, held, gifted or redeemed for the physical item.

4. DRESSX

The largest metacloset™ for digital clothes, AR looks and fashion NFTs is an official event partner and will onboard brands who are keen to explore their unique AR components.

5. David Cash

Curator David Cash and their team at Cash Labs will return to present and produce experiences for an array of established fashion brands and exciting new digital native designers in Decentraland and beyond.

Supporting Small Creators

In order to support the growing creator ecosystem, Decentraland is building an advisory board of curators to select designers to participate in the next event edition, among them, the Institute of Digital Fashion (IODF), Fashion3 by MAD Global, House of Web3, and The Fabricant. With the help of those curators a new plaza will be built, showcasing the new horizons of digital fashion and disruptive activations.
